The Ministry of Health has recently introduced a digital platform known as SATUSEHAT, which aims to integrate patient medical record data from various healthcare facilities into a single information system called PeduliLindung. This initiative is expected to bring benefits to both healthcare providers and patients.
Through SATUSEHAT, patient health data from hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and pharmacies will be consolidated into one centralized platform. This means that patients being referred to different healthcare facilities no longer need to hassle with sending medical documents or repeating lab examinations, as all relevant data will be accessible through PeduliLindung.
This platform is not only designed to streamline the patient experience but also to enhance the efficiency of healthcare workers. By inputting data into SATUSEHAT, health professionals can easily access and share information across various health applications.
Moving forward, the Ministry of Health plans to establish regulations mandating all health applications and service providers to comply with the standards defined by SATUSEHAT. Additionally, efforts are being made to integrate SATUSEHAT with BPJS Health, aiming to create a comprehensive and seamless digital health data ecosystem in Indonesia.
Setiaji, the Expert Staff of the Minister for Health Technology and Chief Digital Transformation Office, revealed that alpha trials of the platform have been conducted in 41 hospitals, with beta trials currently underway in 31 institutions. The Ministry of Health targets to integrate around 8,000 healthcare facilities with SATUSEHAT by the end of 2022, with full integration slated for 2023.
To ensure the security and privacy of users’ personal data, the Ministry of Health has partnered with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). Setiaji also mentioned that regulations are being put in place to safeguard the use of the SATUSEHAT platform, underscoring the government’s commitment to data protection and cybersecurity in the healthcare sector.
