The launch of the Free Health Check in Schools program (CKG Sekolah) on August 4, 2025, marked a significant milestone in Indonesia’s efforts to build a golden generation. Led by Fritz Edward Siregar from the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), the initiative aims to provide health screenings to students in elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide. This school-based program is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s Fast Results for the Best Outcomes agenda, which focuses on promotive and preventive healthcare.
During the launch event at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 8 in South Jakarta, parents were encouraged to support their children’s participation in the health checks. With the service being not only free but also conveniently delivered directly to schools, the initiative aims to increase awareness of crucial health issues among students. At MIN 8 South Jakarta, 617 students underwent various health assessments conducted by medical personnel from local community health centers.
The health screenings provided to primary school students cover a wide range of areas, including nutritional status, blood pressure, tuberculosis, mental health, and immunization history. This comprehensive approach underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of young Indonesians. Launched as part of the broader CKG program in February 2025, this initiative is set to benefit 60 million individuals by the end of the year.
With over 15 million people already benefiting from the CKG program, efforts are underway to expand its reach to the entire Indonesian population. Through partnerships with community health centers, schools, and other healthcare facilities, the program aims to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to all citizens. Digitally integrated platforms like the SATUSEHAT Mobile app and the Ministry of Health’s official WhatsApp channel help streamline the delivery of CKG services.
As the government works towards achieving its goals under the Fast Results for the Best Outcomes agenda, the CKG Sekolah program stands as a testament to Indonesia’s commitment to building a healthier and more resilient future. Through proactive measures like free health screenings in schools, the nation is laying the foundation for a generation that is well-informed and empowered to prioritize their health and well-being.
