The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully completed a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on August 17, 2025. This mission was a joint effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time, conducting an airdrop of essential aid supplies over Gaza before returning safely to the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.
Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, the Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, reported that the mission was carried out smoothly without major obstacles. The aid packages delivered included staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally gave the order for this mission, demonstrating Indonesia’s dedication to international humanitarian solidarity.
The successful completion of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was a moment of national pride, showcasing the country’s active participation on the global stage and contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto described this accomplishment as a significant milestone and a special gift in honor of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
