Agus Joyo Sutono, a government teacher at SD Dua Jati Kulon in Jati District, Kudus Regency, has been dedicated to educating for over two decades. Recently, he expressed appreciation for the improvements in the distribution of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Agus highlighted the faster, more accurate, and transparent disbursement of TPG, which has facilitated the receipt of allowances for teachers nationwide.
Commencing his teaching career in 2003 and formally appointed as a PPPK teacher in 2023, Agus considers his professional journey a pivotal moment in terms of recognition and motivation to elevate his teaching standards. Although Agus has been receiving TPG since 2011, he observed a significant enhancement in the distribution system this year. The direct central transfers of TPG to teachers’ accounts have streamlined the process and improved efficiency, according to Agus.
For Agus, TPG symbolizes not just financial encouragement but also a gesture of trust and government backing for the teaching profession. He lauded the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and President Prabowo for the innovative policy that simplified the distribution process. Apart from supporting his family, Agus uses TPG for personal development, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in primary school education.
Beyond personal benefits, Agus exhibits solidarity by assisting non-civil servant teaching staff and contributing to school activities with a portion of his TPG allowance. He advocates for the continuity of this new policy as a standard to bolster the welfare and professional endeavors of dedicated teachers. Agus envisions TPG continuing to empower teachers and contribute to creating a better Indonesia.
